Spinal Decompression in Morisset

person on decompression tableAs one of the most comfortable and gentle forms of spinal care available, spinal decompression therapy is a non-surgical modality that works by gently lengthening and releasing the spine – creating negative pressures within the targeted spinal discs. If you have sciatica and experience debilitating pain that prevents you from living the life you’ve envisioned, this kind of therapy could be great for you.

Spinal Decompression Therapy with the Hill DT table is a research-driven modality enhanced with the latest technology, producing extraordinary and life-improving results worldwide. For practice members who conclude their care plan in full, there is a 91 percent success rate for those experiencing:
  • Bulging and herniated discs
  • Spinal degeneration
  • Chronic facet syndrome
  • Spinal canal stenosis
  • Failed back surgery

At Recover Clinics Australia, our team uses the TGA-approved Hill Decompression Table. New to Australia, it is the industry-leading decompression table on the world market, with an unrivalled instant biofeedback system to ensure total comfort for practice members.

The HillDT uses a non-cable-based system which means gentle, smooth and secure decompression. Sessions have never been reported to cause injury, and most practice members report a mild sense of stretch within the spine, hips and shoulders, depending on the area of focus. practice members often fall asleep during their sessions.

The decompression creates a vacuum within the disc space and helps to pull the bulging disc material back into place, taking stress off pinched nerves and the surrounding soft tissue. Nutrients, oxygen and fluids are also drawn back into the disc, which helps stimulate the body’s natural healing process.

Life-changing results for chronic back and neck pain have been achieved through this innovative technology. It has more than 15 years of clinically proven success.

Some of our practice members have noticed a slight stretching sensation to start with, while others have not. Our team starts on a low setting of pull, to ensure your security and comfort.

During future visits, Dr Elijah (Chiropractor) can steadily increase your setting, and during this time you may feel a gentle stretch. If you stop feeling a stretch it does not mean that the decompression table is not working. It just means your discs are still being pumped and your joints are still being opened, even when you feel no pull.

Your ligaments are likely adapting to the stretch, and we need to see that you have adapted before we can increase your stretch force so that your back and neck are always secure.

person with leg painWhat Progress May Look Like for You

Due to the stretching of scar tissue, sometimes you may get an increase of pain while you are on the decompression table, or shortly after – but it will only be temporary. This is normal and, in fact, expected in some cases.

As part of your care, we expect that any leg pain or arm pain will begin to centralise or recede to your lower back or neck. During this period, you may feel that your arm or leg pain is getting better but that your back or neck pain is getting worse. This is normal and only temporary and is a good sign that you are progressing.

Other key things that we look for, to show us that you are improving are

  • reduction in “pins and needles” if you have any
  • decrease of any numbness
  • return to normal sensation
  • improvement in function
  • increase in your range of motion

Your progress will be regularly monitored by so we will know if/when we need to modify your individualised plan or when we may need to investigate further care options with you.
